Hey Jim, I'm glad you got a linksys node up and running. The range on the linksys nodes isn't very far until you put a high gain directional antenna and possibly an amplifier which can be more costly than just getting a ubiquiti radio and flashing it (Flashing some Ubiquiti radios can be much more difficult and if done wrong can brick the radio). This being the case we're using the linksys for learning how the nodes work and what you can do through them however you kinda need 2 nodes to really test out it's potential. I have a linksys that's already flashed over that you're welcome to use for testing/learning purposes. Let me know how I can get it to you. Hope you're having a nice day!
Thanks for the offer Bill. I'm going to get a couple more linksys myself and play with them to test range, capabilities, etc. I'll post all of my results.
that sounds great. I've had some success setting up a FTP server as well as a webcam through the mesh during testing at my house between two nodes. Can't wait to get some nodes out in the field! Thanks for your interest in Brodband Hamnet and Thanks for joining the forum!
